Return of the #norecipe Recipe

Yes, no recipe. Just ingredients and a little guidance. Concerned? Doubtful? Not sure that you can accomplish a delicious dish in just minutes...without a recipe?

You can do it. Really. Follow along. Here's my guidance in printable format.

Today, we--you--are going to create a delicious salad for one person...or for two. Are you ready? Off we go! Gather the following:

A shallow bowl.
Tomatoes cut into small wedges.
Half of a ball of burrata.
Fresh basil leaves.
1 large garlic clove.
Extra-virgin olive oil.
Fine sea salt.
Kalamata olives.
Fresh broccoli microgreens. Optional.

Burrata in the center of the bowl. Tomato wedges around the burrata. Sprinkle sea salt lightly over everything.

Let's prepare the basil oil by processing together about half a cup of basil leaves (more if you wish), the garlic and as much olive oil as you think. Perhaps about one third to one half of a cup. Add a generous pinch of salt, and you're done. Drizzle as much as you wish over everything in the bowl.

Next, drizzle a little of the beautiful balsamic vinegar. Finish with the olives and more of the olive oil. Top with the microgreens if you have them. Eat.

Need more? Double up on ingredients. Do this enough times, and you can eyeball everything eventually.

A note about the balsamic vinegar that I use. It's not a glaze, but it is aged and has a light sweetness and a concentrated flavor. It's also quite thick, like a glaze, but there are no added flavorings or sugars. I buy it on Amazon.com, and you can too, but I don't make any money from your purchase, and I don't have a partnership with the vinegar brand or with Amazon.com. I just want you to try this high-quality ingredient. Don't be concerned about the price. It's so concentrated, that you won't need much. My last purchase was in April of 2023! I have enough vinegar to prepare this salad ten more times...or more.
